National Office Attendance Shows Gradual but Consistent Increase

As companies implement more stringent in-person requirements and adapt to long-term flexible work policies, data from’s National Office Index reveals a notable 27% increase in attendance rates on midweek days since 2022. This analysis, encompassing approximately 1,000 commercial office buildings in the United States (excluding dual-purpose residential-commercial structures), sheds light on the evolving dynamics.

Despite a decline of up to 49% in foot traffic on Mondays and Fridays—traditionally popular work-from-home days—the ongoing shift back to the office is proving advantageous for a property type grappling with historically high vacancy rates.
