Background:

Trey Hicks joined WCRE in October 2026 as a Research Analyst, working under Andrew Koller, Director of Research.

In his role, Trey supports WCRE’s research and advisory efforts through market analysis, financial modeling, underwriting, and property-level research. His work helps the WCRE team evaluate market conditions, investment opportunities, property performance, and trends across the commercial real estate landscape.

Trey brings a strong financial and analytical background to the role, with experience in financial statement analysis, data modeling, capital planning, and performance analysis. His commercial real estate training includes multifamily, mixed-use, and industrial underwriting, with experience in DCF analysis, NOI modeling, return analysis, and investment scenario evaluation.

Prior to joining WCRE, Trey served as a John McLendon Leadership Fellow with Duke University Athletics. In this role, he supported capital formation, major capital improvement projects, stakeholder coordination, and operational initiatives.

He previously worked as a Financial Analyst Intern with the Longwood Small Business Development Center, where he analyzed financial statements and developed financial models to support business planning and capital allocation decisions.
